Some of the ways I have done to resolve this problem, but still can not fix it. Some of the ways that I have done among other things, remove the key through the registry.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word
Again this does not work for me, but maybe this way work for you.
However, it turns out there is an easy way to reset Microsoft Office Word back to default settings. And I have tried this and it works really smoothly.
Here's how I did to fix the problem as I have mentioned above. Keep in mind that this is a legal way, and will not damage the software that has been installed on your computer. This method is one method recommended by Microsoft itself.
- Download Microsoft Fix It from here:
- For Windows 8, download MicrosoftFixit25011.mini.diagcab here.
- For Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server 2003, download MicrosoftFixit50599.msi here.
- Install MicrosoftFixit25011.mini.diagcab (windows 8) and MicrosoftFixit50599.msi (windows 7, Vista, XP, Server 2008/2003).
- Wait until the instalation process complete and successfuly.
- Done.
- Now open your Ms Word to check if the settings already back to defaults.
