Basic concepts of Web

www (World Wide Web) or web is an information space where these resources are useful identified by global identifiers called URI.

URI

URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) consists of a string of characters used to identify or give the name of the resource on the Internet.

URL

URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is used by the browser to identify resources on the Internet which are written in a single line of text. URL can be considered as part of the URI.

Hypertext

An information which can be read through a Web Browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc). We can follow the links on each page to move to another document or even send information back to the server to interact. These activities are called Surfing. Web pages are usually set in a collection of inter-related material, called Website.

HTTP

Is a standard request / response between client and server.

Client (web browser) will start do a requests to server. The server will receive the request from the client and returns the response to the client which can be either an error message or another information.
